I depend on installing it from disk as my connection is not that fast being satellite, so if I were to download it all from Steam it would take forever not mentioning my 200 MB a day limit on what I download or I'm knocked down to sub dial up speeds. Many of Capcom's recent games have been knockout hits. Now I have been trying to google on a workaround for the retail/steam version with no luck. Whenever I delete the "LaunchCondition" line, save the MSI and rewrite the other one I am presented with another error and it seems it's the result of the MSI file trying to reference a line that is no longer there, the "LaunchCondition" line that I deleted as what the fix said. Yes I can copy the files to my hard drive and edit the MSI file, but the fix itself doesn't work for the retail version. Sorry about being late to reply back to this thread, the fix you linked to above does not work for the retail/steam version of Lost Planet. If all else fails, then download the game from STEAM. Is there a way to get this to install in XP64 without trouble? It's just when I'm trying to install it fresh off of the disc the installer refuses to install it because it thinks I can not run or play the game thus not being adequate yielding the error above, which I can obviously play the game without problems. Mind you I had no problem playing it when it was already installed when I launched XP64 in a dual boot with XP32. Well when I run the installer for Lost Planet, an error comes up and says, "This Operating system is not adequate for running Lost Planet Extreme Condition". If I use the disc, 100% of the game would be installed excluding necessary updates. Can I transfer my game I am getting a message saying I am missing an executable (EXE) after booting Steam games. I bought your game on one system, but then it came out on a different system I like better. I know I could just re-download it from Steam, but I need to install it from the disc since I don't want to have to download 7 gigs of data through Steam. When I launch the game, I only see a black screen but hear game audio. I already registered my key on Steam when I first got the game so that is taken care of. Well I just tried to install my retail copy of Lost Planet from disc, which uses a key for Steam. My old backup was saved from the x86 XP, but the drive I saved it to became corrupted so I need to reinstall everything fresh. Well as I said my Steamapps folder was backed up prior to the reformat and installation of XP 64. XP 64 has run every game I've thrown at it fine even Silent Hill 2. It's not that the game doesn't run on XP 64, in fact it runs great. Well heres the problem, I backed up my Steamapps Folder before I reformatted but somehow the drive I saved it to got corrupted and now I need to reinstall everything fresh.
